Audiocodes gateways: Changes in RTP port allocation mechanism

In version 5.8 there are few changes in the RTP port allocation mechanism that the users should be aware of.

The majority of the changes is in the analog gateways.

Until version 5.6 RTP ports were statically allocated to channels. For example the first channel always used the BASEUDPPORT (6000 by default), the second channel always used the BASEUDPPORT + 10 (e.g. 6010) etc.

From version 5.8 the ports are allocated dynamically to the channels so few sequential calls from the same channel will use different channels within the range.

Analog Gateways

The range of possible ports from version 5.80A.025.012 is as follow:

·        MP124: 24 ports– (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 23*10)

·        MP118: 8 ports - (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 7*10)

·        MP112/MP114: 4 ports - (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 3*10)

Possible ports range before 5.80A.025.002

·        MP124: 40 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 40*10)

·        MP118: 15 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 15*10)

·        MP112/4: 15 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 15*10)

Digital gateways

In Digital gateways the user can configure media realm to define the range of ports to use.

If the user doesn’t configure media realm the range will be the number of CID’s in the board:

·        TP1610 300 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 300*10)

·        TP6310 4032 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 4032*10)

·        M1000 256 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 256*10)

·        M1000_MSBG 330 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 330*10)

·        MP5XX_MSBG 256 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 256*10)

·        M1000_MSBG 330 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 330*10)

·        TP8410 4032 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 4032*10)

·        TP12610 4032 ports – (from BASEUDPPORT to BASEUDPPORT + 4032*10)
